Central’s football team tied a school record with nine touchdown passes in a season ending 69-14 win at Simpson, earning the number seven spot on our countdown of the top 10 sports stories of the 2023-2024 school year for the Dutch.

Six of the scoring strikes came in the first half as Central built a commanding 41-7 advantage, including a school record four touchdown catches by senior Ryan Neu.

That gave Neu 16 touchdown catches on the season, tied for second all-time in school history, and he scored in each of Central’s 10 games.

Hunter Hoffman and Brady Ketchum each threw four touchdown passes in the win over the Storm, as the Dutch finished their season with an 8-2 record and a third place finish in the American Rivers Conference at 6-2 behind playoff qualifiers Wartburg and Coe.
