The 2024 Knoxville Cancer Relay will be held September 12th-13th.
This is the 11th annual Knoxville Cancer Relay and it continues to be one of the largest cancer fundraisers in the state. The team of runners runs across the entire State of Iowa and they have their kick-off party on Thursday, September 12th. There are also runners who do a mile loop in town and a five mile loop as well. The team raised $50,000 last year and has raised over $250,000 in total with all money going to the American Cancer Society. The relay team is looking for businesses to sponsor this year’s relay, runners, individuals to buy honor mile signs, and for the community to make donations to runners on the team. Pat Finan with the KCR team is a cancer survivor himself and he encourages everyone to get involved with the mission and fundraising efforts of the relay.
“We really want people from the community, whether they can do five miles, or just walk a mile on our loop in town. We’d love to have you join us in town on the 12th and 13th of September. It goes basically from 7:00 – 7:00 and we will also have the statewide run for those who are a little bit more adventurous.”
