The #5 moment on the Twin Cedars and Melcher-Dallas top ten moments of this past school year is from the Saints. 24 years is a long time to wait between conference titles, and on January 27th the Melcher-Dallas Girls Basketball Squad won the Bluegrass Conference Tournament championship for the first time since 1998. To put it in perspective, none of the girls on the team were born, and some of their parents may have still been in high school, and Head Coach Kelsey Goff was still a student at Knoxville High School. On that evening, the Saints beat Mormon Trail 46-41 with Addi Wadle leading the way scoring 23 points. The Saints had to win the conference title on Mormon Trail’s home court due to the other Saints having their turn hosting the BGC finals. Nearly everyone will return for Melcher-Dallas this season for a chance to go back-to-back, and the Melcher-Dallas Saints will get to host in their newly opened rebuilt gym.
