Marion County Public Health held their monthly providers meeting on Monday.
The meeting provides healthcare and community organizations an opportunity to inform the public of updates within their respective organizations. A large group of community healthcare organizations and others showed up at this week’s meeting to share information. There is also a presenter at each meeting, and on Monday the presenter was Amelia Garber with Proteus Career Coach. This organization provides benefits including career counseling, tuition assistance, job training, job placement, and much more for those who have done farm work in the past. Garber said at the meeting that they help people anyway they can transition to a new job.
“On the job side of things we can help individuals find a job, apply for a job, and then provide that financial assistance for things like tools and uniforms and things that they might need for their job that are required.”
The Marion County Providers Meeting is held the first Monday of every month.
