A popular fundraiser is set to return for the Pella Marching Dutch ahead of their upcoming season. Drum Major Karsyn Lyons says Custom Fundraising Solutions will be hosting a mattress sale on Saturday, August 24th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Pella High School East Commons. She says the funds are used for a variety of needs for the band.

“With this big outreach that we have, we can’t do it without funding, and the mattress fundraiser is our primary funding at the beginning of the year, and it also goes to the next big trip for the incoming freshmen and sophomores that will do it their junior and senior year, and it’s really important — we like to have people show out and support us in that way.”

This is the 6th annual mattress fundraiser for the band, and the Marching Dutch will receive a donation for each unit sold on August 24th. For information about the sale, go to: bit.ly/Pella4Beds.

The Pella Marching Dutch are set for their opening public performance at the Indianola football game on September 13th, followed by the Big Reveal Community Impact Performance on September 21st, before the competition season begins with the Bands of America competition on September 28th in Waukee.
