The Pella School Board will consider approval of a new volunteer program pilot at their first regular meeting of the 2024-25 academic year on Monday. This comes ahead of a volunteer fair scheduled on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Madison Elementary to create new opportunities for community members of all ages to support students and teachers. A handbook and coordinator position are on the agenda. The board will also consider a final fiscal year 2025 insurance proposal, a new sports medicine agreement with Kinetic Edge, scheduling of a public hearing on August 26th for continued participation in the Instructional Support Program, a policy for student conduct while on school transportation, and board policy changes. A closed session to discuss an appeal to the Good Conduct Policy will begin the meeting that starts at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Pella High School Library.
