The Indianola Downtown Main Street Board, in partnership with the City of Indianola, Indianola Chamber of Commerce, and Warren County Economic Development Corporation are hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony this afternoon to celebrate Indianola’s designation as a Main Street Iowa community.

City of Indianola Communications Director Aaron Young tells KNIA News the Iowa Economic Development Authority awarded the designation to Indianola, which will help provide grant funding, in addition to various services and training opportunities to build the capacity of the revitalization and enhancement effort.

The press conference and ribbon cutting will take place on the Warren County Justice Center front steps beginning at 2:30pm, with a social celebration at West Hill Brewing Company from 4:30 to 6:30pm.
