An Oskaloosa man arrested near Monroe for having a significant amount of marijuana and THC wax in his vehicle has been given probation and a civil penalty. Jasper County District Court records state 20 year old Deontae M. Cross pled guilty to Conspiracy with Intent to Deliver Marijuana, a class D felony. The court dismissed a Failure to Have a Drug Tax Stamp Charge. Judge Terry Rickers sentenced Cross to three years probation and a $1,025 Civil penalty. The criminal complaint filed by Monroe Police says Cross was stopped for speeding while driving east on Highway 163 around 12:45 a.m. on February 25th of this year. The arresting officer noticed a marijuana odor, and recovered 61 grams of raw marijuana and 131 grams of THC wax from the vehicle. Online court records show Cross has no prior convictions.
