The Newton School District had another successful Summer Lunch Program this year. Food Service Supervisor Julie Miller says just over 3,000 meals were served in June and 2,100 in July.

“We are thankful for the families that participated. We also had the State do an audit on the program. That went really well. We are still waiting on the final report to come back, but we received positive feedback so that was really good.”

The meals were free for children 1-18 and served from June 3rd through July 26th at Newton’s Emerson Hough Elementary.
