The Knights of Columbus Annual Campaign for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities continues for the 26th year this weekend.

Members of the Knights will be at the Pella Hy-Vee, Fareway, and Walmart Stores this Saturday and on Saturday, August 24th to collect donations for the campaign. Joe Lickteig with the Knights of Columbus says they are also bringing back their fifth annual Pellathon on Thursday, August 22nd from 10 am to 8 pm at St. Mary’s Church.

“About forty Knights of Columbus are going to roll over to St Mary’s, we’ve got ten shifts every hour and we’re going to have six or seven guys every hour making Calls. We’ll make about eight hundred calls that we’re going to be dialing out all day, three hundred of which pledged last year. So, we already have a great head start from the great folks that gave last year.”

The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio is returning to the Knights of Columbus Pellathon event. Donations for the campaign can also be made here. The funds received from the campaign will help support the special education departments at Pella and Pella Christian schools, as well as Christian Opportunity Center, 818 Forward with Faith, and the Iowa Special Olympics.
