Led by an outstanding class of seven seniors, the Norwalk volleyball team won 26 games last fall and made the program’s first-ever State Tournament appearance. In 2024, the Warriors will once again follow the lead of a veteran senior class as they look to build off last year’s success.

Head coach John Fulton returns eight letter winners on the varsity squad, including seniors Emmory Toppenberg, Addie Fisher, Dakota Poen, Liz Iverson, Avery Thomas and Hannah Hansen. Toppenberg tallied 132 kills and a team-high 63 blocks last season while Fisher had 85 kills and 25 blocks. Poen is the team’s top returning defensive specialist after recording 217 digs and 25 ace serves as a junior. Iverson is an experienced setter who totaled 390 assists last year while serving 98 percent.

Also back for the Warriors are sophomore Hadley Michael and junior Ava Carlson. Michael put together a huge freshman campaign last season, leading the team with 478 assists and adding 151 digs.

Norwalk will compete in a scrimmage at Johnston on Saturday, August 24, then open the season on Tuesday, August 27, with a home match against Dowling Catholic.
