The Knoxville School Board approved a Classroom Clinic Software agreement for mental health services at their meeting Monday night.

Classroom Clinic will provide the district with a license to use its non instructional software that allows access to mental healthcare providers and associated care coordination through telehealth. This software will be used to refer students in need of appointments with appropriate mental health providers, create a care team for students in need of these services, and help with med management. Superintendent Cassi Pearson says the district will not be responsible for any costs associated with the Classroom Clinic.

“The school provides the space to make sure there is privacy and to make sure we do a referral system so families and students that may need those services, we get them in touch with Classroom Clinic and our mental health region is actually paying for those services.”

The cost for this software is $65,000.
