Newton Football Coach Andy Swedenhjelm feels this could be another good season for the Cardinals. Swedenhjelm heads into his 5th year at the helm of the Newton football program. He says his players put in a lot of effort into skill work and weight training this summer, and  the coaches did their homework too.

“Pretty much since last year ended we’ve been looking forward to this year coming up. We did a lot of clinics together. One of the big ones was when we went to Ferris State up in Big Rapids Michigan during the spring. As soon as we got back from that you could tell our whole staff was anxious and ready to get going for the season.”
