It has not been a great stretch of seasons for the Melcher-Dallas Football Squad. The Saints have not had a winning season since 2017, and went winless in eight games last year. First year Coach Jason Mason takes over the reins this season and tells KNIA Sports it will be a team effort as he tries to get back Saint Pride and a winning culture instilled into the program.

Mason: “It’s really going to be a team effort this year with a lot of kids putting in the effort. One senior is Ryan Heaton, he’ll be the cornerstone of the defense, but we’re going to be a team and hopefully fighting for wins each day.”

Mason adds the one game at a time approach will make the players realize they cannot look ahead to an opponent too early. Melcher-Dallas will have a week zero game at Murray next Friday.
