With the holiday break among us, it’s a good time to take a look at the first “half” of the season for our Pella Little Dutch.

Pella has jumped out to a quick start, going 4-1 during their first 5 games. They have wins over Mt. Pleasant, Knoxville, ADM and Newton. Their only loss came against Norwalk on December 14th.

Head coach Mark Core was asked what grade he would give his squad after 5 games. Coach Core gave his team a B+, adding that the team has made a lot of progress. He explains that the team focused on defense like most teams focus on offense. Now that he feels the team has the defenses understood, they can now focus on getting more on the offensive end of the court.

The Little Dutch will resume the season with a game at Oskaloosa on January 4th. They’ll then return home for a single game against South Tama on January 7th. After that, a tough stretch on 4 road games against Grinnell, Pella Christian, Norwalk and PCM.
