With the Indianola school year beginning tomorrow, the City of Indianola and Indianola Community School District want to remind commuters there will be extra pedestrian traffic on Highway 92. Due to the construction at Indianola High School, students driving to school will be parking across the street near the Indianola Stadium and crossing the street at the stoplight. Indianola City Manager Ben Reeves said he wants to remind drivers to be as safe as possible when driving in the area.
“We just want to make sure our kids are safe, and that we are supporting the schools during the construction season and beyond. I think people will get into the habit of parking over there since there is so much more space. So they are going to perpetuate this beyond the construction of the school.”
The district also plans on having shuttles from the stadium to the school in the morning and afternoon.
