The Indianola Police Department has announced Officer Ross Marshall as the second School Resource Officer with the Indianola Community School District, working with current SRO Jay Hackett.

Superintendent Tara Paul tells KNIA News Officer Marshall will supplement the work with current SRO Jay Hackett with an office at Indianola Middle School.

“That will be the home for the additional officer, and then just like we do with Officer Hackett he will go off into other buildings as needed making rounds. We never want our School Resource Officers to be predictable, that is one of the reasons that we have them. This additional one will be housed at the middle school, but will be out and about like Officer Hackett is.”

Officer Marshall will also work in the elementary schools teaching D.A.R.E., and is a five-year veteran in the department.
