The Pella Knights of Columbus will have a follow-up call day on Monday as part of their effort to raise funds for the organization’s 26th Annual Campaign for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities.

Members of the organization made roughly 600 calls to community businesses and residents on Thursday and raised $48,000 for the special education departments at Pella and Pella Christian Schools, Christian Opportunity Center, 818 Forward with Faith, and the Iowa Special Olympics. Christian Opportunity Center Executive Director Jodi Tukker says they are grateful for the support of the Knights to help meet the needs of those they serve.

“It’s a great partnership here with the Knights of Columbus and their Pellathon. It’s just helped to build awareness in the community of the needs that agencies like COC have and just the importance of supporting individuals with disabilities. We have been very blessed by our partnership with the Knights of Columbus. Financially, we’ve been able to do a lot of great things with the funds that they’ve raised, and they have just been a great partner to work with.”

Donations for the Campaign can still be made here.
