The Pella School Board held a public hearing to consider a five-year extension of the instructional support program on Monday. The board’s approval maintains funding from a portion of the property tax levy that primarily supports the general fund, which pays for teacher salaries and educational programming. The board received a construction update and a presentation from Classroom Clinic about a proposal to support student mental health. Resolutions on the agenda that were approved included a bid to resurface and paint the track, a policy change related to student promotion, release of contract retainage for Winger Corporation and Rapids, and facility agreements with Cardinal Lanes and Queue for bowling and e-sports respectively. The board also continued an agreement with Eunoia Counseling for additional student support.
