Two seal coat projects totaling just over $369,000 were awarded to a Mingo Company at this morning’s Jasper County Board of Supervisors meeting. On both jobs, Denco Highway Construction Corporation beat bids from Manatt’s Corporation of Brooklyn, Iowa and Midwest Coatings Company of Modale, Iowa. Denco will be seal coating 5.9 miles of County Highway F-70 from Monroe west to County road S-6-G for $263,944. The two other bids were $305,287 from Manatt’s and $392,239 from Midwest Coatings. On County Highway F-34, 1.3 miles of seal coat will go down from the Polk County line east towards Valeria. Denco’s low bid was $105,108. Midwest Coatings came in at $128,336. Manatt’s bid was $139,562. Both projects are to start and be completed next month. The Jasper County Supervisors ended today’s meeting in closed session with Information and Technology Director Ryan Eaton. According to the published agenda, they were to discuss information and records concerning physical infrastructure, cyber security, critical infrastructure, security procedures, or emergency preparedness.
