An opening quad that featured three of the four teams in the preseason rankings went well overall for the #11 in 4A Pella volleyball team, as they won twice against Bondurant-Farrar (25-14, 25-14) and #6 in 3A Mid-Prairie (25-14, 25-22), and fell to No. 1 in 3A Mount Vernon (20-25, 19-25).

The Dutch used their two-setter attack with a balanced offensive approach, and featured 20 blocks from the imposing frontline. Abbie Brand finished with ten blocks total, including two solo, and Emma Eekhoff had seven of those shared blocks in the three matches.

Pella opens the season at 2-1 and rejoins Bondurant-Farrar at the Skip Anderson Tournament on Saturday.
