The first football game at Randy Wilson Track will go down as a loss for the Knoxville Panthers as Boone dominated from the start and won 42-6. The Toreadors scored 14 points in each of the first three quarters and built a 42-0 lead with the clock running. Knoxville did get one the board in the 4th quarter as Eli Fuller will become the answer to a trivia question of who caught the first touchdown pass at Randy Wilson Track as he hauled in a 27 yards strike from Roston McCarty. Coach Matt Dunkin told KNIA/KRLS Sports his team moved the ball at times, but Boone proved too tough.
Dunkin: “Thought in the 2nd quarter we started to sustained some drives a bit and we just lost a few possessions, the guys never gave up, but it was just frustrating.”
Brenden Woolsey had 109 yards passing and 57 yards on the ground to lead Knoxville. The Panthers are 0-1 on the season and will travel to Clarke next Friday.
