The final score aside, it appeared that everything went as well as it could have at Randy Wilson Track on Friday in the first football game played at that facility. While Knoxville fell to Boone 42-6, the Panthers were ready for the night, the Panther Walk a little different than in years past and fans seemed to find available parking. Coach Matt Dunkin told KNIA/KRLS Sports he appreciated the fans filling the stands for the game and hopes that his team can win a game in the near future in front of the home crowd.
Dunkin: “Even when we were over on the middle school practice field when the freshman game was going the amount of people that was in the stands, then when we came by the concession stand to see how many were in the stands, it was just great to see.”
The Panthers will go on the road this week to Clarke, the next home game at Randy Wilson Track will be in week three where Knoxville hosts South Tama.
