Pella Community Ambulance has officially been certified as an EMS school, and the service is preparing to offer classes soon in-house to bolster their staff and support agencies in the area.

Chief Greg Higginbotham says Paramedic Adam Novak has led the charge in allowing Pella Ambulance to provide extensive training and classes, which are certified by the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services.

At this week’s Pella City Council meeting, a fee structure and guidelines for minimum students to participate in the course work were proposed and await approval at an upcoming meeting.

Those who are interested in EMT classes at Pella Community Ambulance can register or learn more by calling the service during regular hours at (641) 628-1780.
