Central College hosts Illinois Wesleyan this afternoon to kick off the 2024 football season.

The Dutch are coming off an 8-2 campaign that included a 38-13 week two road victory over the Titans, who finished the season 3-7.

It’s the start of Jeff McMartin’s 21st year as Central’s head coach, and while he has both new offensive and defensive coordinators, they each have seven returning starters to work with.

“In football, you play very very few games and you train for a long time. It’s kind of a year long thing. We’ve had a number of fifth year kids come back and so they’ve committed and sacrificed and put a lot of things on hold to have this season. You want them do well, you want your upperclassmen do well, and you want Central to do well. We love this school and we love this football program and we want to see it thrive.”

Kickoff is at 1:00 this afternoon at Ron and Joyce Schipper Stadium. Join Trevor Castle and George Wares for all of the action, beginning with pregame at 12:35 on 92.1 KRLS and the Central Dutch Network.
