The Newton Cardinal Football team will look for their first win of the season tonight at home against Dallas Center Grimes. Both teams are 0-1 after close week one losses. Despite over 300 yards of offense, Newton lost at ADM 13 to 8. New Cardinal quarterback Caden Klein ran for 116 yards and a touchdown, and completed 15 of 30 passes for 231 yards. But ADM also picked off three of his passes, including one inside the Tigers 30 yard line with 11 seconds left to seal their win. Dallas Center Grimes lost at home last to Gilbert 35 to 28. The Mustangs threw for 222 yards, but only gained 41 yards on the ground. Newton Coach Andy Swedenhjelm notes there’s more attention on tonight’s game due to live pre-game coverage by RVTV.

“I think we have a fantastic homefield environment, We have the new stadium lights to show off tonight and a lot of hype with RVTV here. Kind of a buzz around Newton about this game tonight and I’m excited about it.”
