The class 4A #10 Knoxville Volleyball Squad went 3-2 at the Atlantic Invitational on Saturday. The Panthers ripped through their first three opponents, not dropping a set over the host Trojans 21-9 and 21-15, Grandview Christian 21-10 and 21-7, then beat St. Albert 21-18 and 22-20. However, in the final two games Knoxville fell to class 5A Des Moines Roosevelt in two sets and Treynor in three sets. Coach Mollie Keitges took her team to that event to challenge them rather than getting in an easier meet. She adds what they do in practice makes it easier to navigate a match on game night.
Keitges: “My job is to make volleyball easier for them. Once we get into a game we know what we can do and what our challenges are.”
Knoxville is 6-3 overall and will travel to Davis County on Tuesday.
