Marion County Public Health held their monthly providers meeting on Monday.
The meeting provides healthcare and community organizations an opportunity to inform the public of updates within their respective organizations. A large group of community healthcare organizations and others showed up at this week’s meeting to share information. There is also a presenter at each meeting, and on Monday the presenter was Inside Out Wellness and Advocacy. This organization is a mental health crisis stabilization center and they are building a new center in Knoxville. They also help with substance abuse and they believe in helping Iowa residents receive the care and treatment they need to live a better life, free of stigmas or stereotypes. Del Bennett with Marion County Public Health encourages organizations to attend the monthly meetings.
“If there is an organization that would like to come to the providers meeting they can either call out here to public health and ask to speak to me and I can get them on the list, or they can just come out the first Monday of the month at 9:30, sit in and listen, and see if it is for them.”
The meeting is normally held the first Monday of every month, but was moved back a week due to Labor Day.
