The Marion County Board of Supervisors approved the final reading of declaring EMS as an essential service at their meeting on Tuesday. 

This motion passed in a 2-1 split vote. There was then a motion approved to establish an EMS Advisory Counsel that would be made up of different EMS personnel within the county. Also at the meeting, the board approved a resolution for an amendment to the comprehensive future land use plan for Marion County, there was a public hearing and approval of a zoning map amendment ordinance, and discussion regarding county compensation board changes. The meeting concluded with the board entering into closed session.
