The Knoxville Community School District received a $15,000 Prairie Meadows community betterment grant.
The district will use this grant for the music department and the funds will be used to pay for new choir robes and replace some instruments in the band program. Knoxville Community School District Superintendent Cassi Pearson is looking forward to using this grant to help out the music department.
“Our choir has been raising funds along with the booster club. They have been a fantastic partner for us. They have been raising funds for new choir robes, and our band program is looking to replace some of the instruments that we loan out, especially some of the larger instruments that are difficult for families to purchase. We’re excited that the grant was received and we will get started on making those purchases in the near future.”
