In a homecoming week, Little Hawkeye Conference volleyball opener, it was advantage Pella as the #9 ranked Dutch knocked off #7 Dallas Center-Grimes 3-2 (21-25, 25-15, 29-31, 25-21, 15-8) Tuesday night.

While the service line was shaky for most of the evening for the home team, the Dutch overcame an emotional drop following an extended set three win for the Mustangs and found momentum to surge into the fifth and decisive set. Pella was down by four points near the middle of the fourth set before taking over from there.

Katie Scheckel led the way with 17 kills, followed by 15 from Brooke Schulte and 12 from Emma Eekhoff. The Dutch improve to 14-2 overall and return to action Saturday in a Class 5A and ranked-team heavy tournament at Southeast Polk High School.
