The Norwalk boys golf team won a nine-hole dual at Willow Creek on Wednesday afternoon, defeating Des Moines Roosevelt by 10 strokes, 147 to 157. It was the second dual win of the season for the Class 4A fifth-ranked Warriors.

Norwalk was led by their three varsity seniors. Mason Johnson earned medalist honors with a round of 35, Kaleb Foltz was the runner-up medalist with a 36 and Grady Sigrist shot a 37. Ian Lux and Dayton Poen both carded a 39 and Tillman Papcun added a 40.

The Warriors’ next meet is Monday at Veenker Memorial Golf Course in Ames. Tee time is set for 10:00 a.m.

Cross Country

The Norwalk cross country teams will compete in their second meet of the season today at Marshalltown Community College. The Bobcat Invite will start at 4:00 p.m. In last week’s Kirk Schmaltz Invitational at Ames, the Warrior boys placed first and the girls finished 10th.
