The Pella Public Library is adding a third class to their Geri-Fit program beginning on October 17th.
For several years, the library has offered the program as a strength training exercise class for older adults, which is designed to increase balance and improve flexibility and gait. The 45 minute class is held on Monday and Thursday mornings at 10:30 and 11:30, and the new third class will be held on Monday and Thursday afternoons at 12:30 starting on October 17th. The goal of the additional class is to meet the needs of those wanting to participate in the program. Enrollment in the Geri-Fit class is free and open to all older adults of any fitness level. Most of the exercises are performed while seated or standing near a chair, and participants will work at their own pace.
Registration for the program is required and may be done by calling the Pella Public Library at 641-628-4268, or by inquiring at the front desk. For questions about this or other upcoming events, contact the library.
