The United Way of Jasper County recently began the non-profit organization’s annual fall fundraising campaign. Jessica Lowe Vokes, the Executive Director, says the fundraiser’s goal this year at $315,000. She says all the money raised is used within Jasper County and will fund programs next year that are run by partnering agencies.

“We are funding all kinds of health and human services programs that are going to help stabilize lives. The money is really vital to those programs.”

Lowe Vokes says the fall fundraising campaign is the United Way of Jasper County’s primary funding source. She adds there’s several ways to make a donation.

“If people still write checks send them to United Way of Jasper County P.O. Box 844 Newton Iowa 50208. You can go online at www.unitedwayofjaspercounty.org and we have Venmo, you can also find us on Facebook. We’ve really tried to have different ways people can support us.”

According to Lowe Vokes, United Way of Jasper County serves about 15-thousand Jasper County residents each year. For a complete list of the programs they help fund, go to their website at www.unitedwayofjaspercounty.org
