 A 59 year old Newton woman with a history of drug possession is facing a felony charge for allegedly having a baggie of methamphetamine in a Newton nursing home. Newton Police have charged Melissa Ann Morris with 3rd Offense Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class D felony. The arrest report says Morris is free on her own recognizance with an initial court appearance scheduled for September 24th. Newton Police claim Morris has admitted ownership of a plastic bag containing meth that was found at Acura Health Care Center Thursday, September 5th. The amount of methamphetamine in the bag has not been released. Newton Police note Morris has four prior drug related convictions for marijuana and controlled substance possession, including a felony conviction in June 2004.
