The newly-#4 ranked Pella volleyball team played against some of the state’s best, continuing their loaded scheduled Saturday, going 3-2 overall at the Southeast Polk Tournament.

The Dutch defeated Marshalltown 2-0 (21-10, 21-19), ADM 2-0 (25-21, 25-21), and Council Bluffs Lincoln 2-0 (21-19, 21-16), and fell to #5 in 4A Bishop Heelan in a rematch from the Glenwood tournament 0-2 (22-25, 14-25). Pella’s highlight of the day came in their second loss, as they hung tough but ultimately fell to #1 in 5A Ankeny Centennial 1-2 (22-20, 14-21, 12-15). Three of the team’s four losses have come to #1 ranked teams across the classes (Centennial, Mount Vernon, and Denver).

The Dutch stand at 17-4 overall and return home on Tuesday for the Tulip City Showdown against #11 in Class 2A Pella Christian.
