The Newton Colfax-Mingo Pella Aquagirls had their first home meet since the season opener last night and won convincingly. The Aquagirls defeated Oskaloosa 137-29. The highlight of the night was Junior Tori White setting a new school record in the 100 meter backstroke with a time of 1:10.35. Coach Nick Shelton says this team is good top to bottom, and he believes team chemistry is a big reason for that.

“You know the relays are really good because we focus on the culture of the team. It builds every girl up. Then that drives the individual events as well because everyone is cheering for each other”.

The next meet for the Newton Colfax-Mingo Aquagirls is at Valley High School Saturday, September 28th. Grinnell and six other schools are expected to participate.
