A Newton man facing a felony drug charge is scheduled to make his initial court appearance this coming Monday. Newton Police say 40-year-old Ricky Lee Wells was arrested on September 15th, after a search warrant was carried out on a vehicle he had been in. The vehicle was parked at MercyOne Newton Medical Center. Officers reported finding a ziploc baggie containing 71.2 grams of a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. The arrest report also states a hard case containing marijuana was seized, along with a digital scale and items used to ingest narcotics. Wells is in the Jasper County Jail charged with a Class B Felony Controlled Substance violation, along with two drug related aggravated misdemeanors.
