The Indianola football team led from start to finish as they dominated Warren County rival Carlisle 28-7 Friday evening for the annual homecoming game as heard live on 94.3 KNIA.
The Indians traded punts to start the game with the Wildcats, then went up 7-0 on a 23 yard Asher Brueck to Parker Kaufman touchdown pass, then scored again on a one-yard rush by Pontier in the second quarter to lead 14-0 at the break. Carlisle turned the ball over on the first possession of third quarter and Brueck found Will Whalen for a 20-yard
touchdown, then Brueck threw his third score of the night on a 27-yard strike to Rylan Hilton to get to 28-0. Carlisle scored a late touchdown after the benches were emptied.
Indianola head coach Eric Kluver said after the game this was a complete team win, playing all four quarters.

“That’s something that we were trying to stress all week long. Carlisle getting us the last two years, just really dominating us the last two years, I was worried as a coach because you just never know if you can hold up against their offense. They’ve scored a lot of points against a lot of good football teams, and it was just a great defensive effort by our guys to really shut them out tonight.”

Brueck had 192 yards and threw for three scores through the air, while Jake Pontier had 90 yards and a score on the ground. Indianola improves to 3-1, and will travel to Ballard next week to begin district play.
