The public is invited to join Indianola Municipal Utilities for a groundbreaking ceremony of their state-of-the-art solar facility tomorrow. IMU General Manager Chris Desplanques tells KNIA News IMU has partnered with Omaha-based Sandhills Energy, and the facility stands on 25 utility-owned acres adjacent to the city’s water department, and will generate up to 6.5 million kilowatt hours of IMU customers’ electricity annually. The ceremony will be Wednesday at 10am at the Water Resource Recovery Facility.
