The Norwalk boys golfers posted their fifth sub-300 score of the season on Monday, shooting a 294 to place fourth in the West Des Moines Valley Invite at Willow Creek.

The three teams above Norwalk in the final standings are all ranked in the top three of Class 4A golf. Second-ranked Johnston won the tournament with a 280, followed by No. 1 Valley (282) and No. 3 Waukee Northwest (291).

The 10th-ranked Warriors were led by senior Grady Sigrist, who moved up one spot to 10th in the latest 4A individual rankings. Sigrist shot a 70 and tied for third place on Monday. Also for Norwalk, Mason Johnson carded a 74, Dayton Poen and Kaleb Foltz both shot a 75 and Tillman Papcun added a 76.

The Warriors’ next meet is Wednesday’s Southeast Polk Invite at Copper Creek. Play will begin at 9:00 a.m.
