The Newton Volleyball team celebrated Senior night on Monday, but came up on the wrong end of a 3-0 sweep against Grinnell. The Cardinals fell in straight sets 25-18, 25-15, and 26-24. Newton senior Delaney Woollums recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs, while junior Isabelle Rawlins dished out 22 assists and recorded 7 digs. Senior Chloe Swank added 20 digs, and senior Macy Lampe provided 8 kills for the Cardinal offense. Newton is now 6-9 overall on the season and is off until hosting Class 5A #6 Indianola on Tuesday, October 1st.
