Newton Freshman Audrey Muckler has been the Cardinals top finisher in all four cross country meets this season. She has yet to finish outside the top 10, and has three top five finishes. Audrey placed 5th at Tuesday night’s home meet at Maytag Park. She says she’s pleased with how she’s done this year and surprised by her time drops. Her goal is to beat her current personal best of 21:49.

“To get another “PR” by the end of the season.  My goal is 20:30 by the end of the year.”

The next meet for Audrey Muckler and the rest of the Newton Girls Cross Country team is the Fort Dodge Invitational at Fort Dodge’s Lakeside Municipal Golf Course Thursday, October 10th, which is also the site of the site of the annual state meet.
