pella-in-pink-1

Pella in Pink will be held on Sunday at 2 pm at the Cordova Park Pavilion at Lake Red Rock.

The event presented by the Pella Regional Health Center Foundation will include a brief program, family-friendly activities for all ages, and a 1.2 mile nature hike around the Karr Trail. Pella Regional’s Breast Care Program helps women access essential screening and diagnostic and treatment services close to home. Chris Payne, a breast cancer survivor through the breast care program at Pella Regional, says she is looking forward to attending the event for the first time this weekend.

“I’m excited to be a part of it, because it has a warm place in my heart. I mean, it’s a special place for what Pella Regional has done for me. So, I’m anxious to see what all the event has to offer. And it is exciting that the community is behind it, because you look around in our community and it’s not if you get breast cancer, it seems like when. I mean, it’s just so prevalent anymore. And so, it’s exciting to see that there is so much community support for this program here and for this facility and the great job that they do.”

Event shirt pick up will be Thursday, October 3rd from 3:30–5:30 pm at Pella Regional’s Main Entrance. For more information, contact the Pella Regional Health Center Foundation at 641-621-2290 or email Foundation Coordinator Jenny Hesseltine at jhesseltine@pellahealth.org
