The Pleasantville volleyball team fell at home to Van Meter on Tuesday night and the girls and boys cross country teams competed at Ogden.

The Trojan volleyball team lost in straight sets to West Central Conference opponent Van Meter. Pleasantville lost set one 25-11, set two 25-10, and set three 25-9. This was Pleasantville’s first opportunity to play in front of the home crowd in prime time and senior Faith Nelson said it helps with momentum.

“Having the energy of your own home crowd behind you is really a momentum giver and it’s just something you thrive off of and build off of.”

Pleasantville wore special pink uniforms in the contest in honor of breast cancer awareness. The Trojan volleyball team falls to 15-10 on the season and will compete on Saturday at a home tournament.

The Trojan girls cross country team finished fifth and the boys team finished eighth in a meet hosted by Ogden on Tuesday.
