The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly renovated and upgraded Randy Wilson Track at 6:15 this evening.

This event will serve as the kickoff for Knoxville’s Homecoming Pep Rally and Events, bringing together alumni, students, community members, and local leaders to celebrate the new home of the Knoxville Panthers. Randy Wilson Track, a facility that has served Knoxville athletes for many years, has undergone extensive renovations to improve its functionality, appearance, and accessibility for future generations of athletes, performers, and spectators. The upgrades have been made possible through the combined efforts of local donors, school officials, and the Knoxville community. Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Nathan Sage said this will be a way to celebrate the new facility.

“It’s a great opportunity to show something the school district has worked on for a while to enhance and make better and bring this community together. It’s a chance to celebrate that. With homecoming you are going to have alumni checking out the new facility and checking out what Randy Wilson Track has to offer now as opposed to the past and we get to kind of celebrate that.”

The homecoming king and queen coronation ceremony will take place after the ribbon cutting.
