Hoping to create chaos at the top of the district football standings, Pella Christian hosts Sigourney-Keota in a big showdown in Class 1A District 6 tonight.

After defeating Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont 57-14 last Friday, the Eagles moved into a four-way tie for second place in the district with the Rockets, Pleasantville, and Colfax-Mingo. Meanwhile, Sigourney-Keota took sole possession of the top spot in the district a week ago, defeating Pleasantville 33-7. While Pella Christian knows they have the opportunity to shake up the district tonight, head coach Rich Kacmarynski says their focus has solely been on improving.

“You know, honestly we’ve just been focusing on things that we’ve got to do, which I think is a good recipe for success. We’re playing better. We’ve been working hard for a long time and I think we’re starting to see that and obviously the victory we had against Eddyville last week was a great testimony to that. So, we’re playing better and our kids are working hard. So, we’re gonna be focused on what we need to get done tonight for the win.”

Coverage of Pella Christian football against Sigourney-Keota tonight can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS, beginning with pregame coverage at 6:30 pm.
