In a back and forth match that stretched to the limit, Twin Cedars took down arch-rival Melcher-Dallas in five sets on Thursday 22-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-18 and 15-8. The Sabers come back from being down two sets to one with great front row play from. Ami Mockenhaupt did the setting with 15 assists and Khloe French with eight and Cristen Durian with seven kills led the way. The Sabers jumped out to a 13-3 lead in the final set before winning by seven. Serving was also good with Kennedi Ford serving up eight aces and Blayne Comstock serving up four. The Saints had a good night at the net as Gabby Overgaard had 11 kills while Mady DeJong and Haylie Hendrickson both had seven. Jenna Mickey was 21/22 serving and had 13 digs. Jalyssa Juline was perfect in 16 service attempts with two aces. Coach Jesyka Nolte told KNIA Sports the girls played well and left it all on the court, but came up short. Melcher-Dallas is 5-9 this season. The Sabers are now 9-14 this season.
