The community came out to support local firefighters Saturday to kick off Fire Prevention Week. The annual Pella Fire Department breakfast was held at their station on Main Street, with Pella Fire Chief Randy Bogaard saying a record-high 988 residents came through line for a meal and other activities, and raised the most-ever money collected in one morning of the seven-year old tradition.
