The Newton Volleyball team picked up their 10th win of the season in Oskaloosa last night and first in the Little Hawkeye Conference. The Cardinals defeated the Indians 3-1(25-17, 21-25, 28-26, 25-19). Newton is 1-4 in the conference and 10-12 on the year. Oskaloosa falls to 0-5 in conference play and 6-15 overall.  Top performers for Newton were Isabelle Rawlins with 50 assists, three kills, 14 digs, and two aces. Delaney Woollums chipped in 23 kills, 17 digs, two aces, and one block. Chloe Swank had 44 digs, an ace, and an assist. Macy Lampe added 24 kills and 13 digs. Next up for the Cardinals is a home triangular tomorrow against Des Moines North and Williamsburg. That will begin at 5 p.m. in Newton High School’s Upper Gym.
